The Junta is to carry out the installation of the Andalucian Telecare Service (SAT) to 3,255 elderly people who live alone and who are in a situation of greater vulnerability since the Covid-19 state of alarm was declared in Spain.
These 3,255 people will be able to contact the service with the push of a button and will receive direct and personalised attention to any type of need 24 hours a day, with immediate response to emergency situations, mobilising the necessary resources.
In addition, 5,877 additional advanced remote assistance devices, such as smoke and gas safety detectors, will be installed as a priority for users who live alone.
The SAT currently serves more than 233,000 elderly, dependent or disabled people, of whom 60 per cent live alone at home.
The Andalusian Telasistencia Service is playing an essential role in this crisis caused by the coronavirus in its work of accompaniment and care for the elderly and people in situations of dependency.
This role is even more important in the cases of users who live alone, in most cases elderly people for whom telecare is, in many cases, the only contact they have with the outside world.
