Paraglider found dead in Ronda

A 51-year-old paraglider was found dead this Saturday morning (22 May) after suffering an accident in the Malaga town of Ronda, according to the 112 Andalucía emergency service control centre.

The alarm was raised at around 7.30 pm on Friday when emergency services were told that contact had been lost with the person who had started a long-distance flight between the Cadiz town of Algodonales and Ronda.

A search was carried out by the Guardia Civil with officers from Cádiz and Malaga, and health workers, firefighters, Natonal Police officers and Civil Protection volunteers were also involved.

The body of the paraglider was discovered at around 1am this Saturday morning in a part of Ronda that has not been disclosed so far.
