Hola. My name is Paul Whitelock. I’ve lived here in the mountains of the Serrania de Ronda for the last 12 years, splitting my time between Montejaque and the campo outside Ronda. Married to the Lovely Rita (Meter Maid) we are enjoying our retirement in this most beautiful part of Andalucía.
I shall be contributing articles to the SecretSerranía website from time to time. My blog, entitled A View from the Mountains, will aim to complement Karl Smallman’s contributions and will try to give my perspective on life up here in the Serranía, a mixture of opinion pieces, news, commentary, notes on the Spanish language and, I hope, helpful advice about life here in southern Spain.
Some ideas include hints about what to do when someone dies, writing a last will and testament, getting a Spanish driving licence, how to deal with limescale in your water, keeping your swimming pool clean and healthy and achieving a chemical-free home. Articles about the quirks of the Spanish language and its influence on the world will also feature.
I intend to re-publish appropriate pieces from blogs I wrote in earlier years for The Olive Press, SUR in English, and my own now-retired website A1-Solutions-Spain.com.
That will do for my introduction. I hope readers will enjoy reading my pieces and will continue to support the SecretSerranía website, which is an excellent addition to other sites available in the area.
Hasta pronto.
