The mayor of Ronda, Mª Paz Fernández, together with the municipal tourism delegate, Alicia López and the Official Chronicler of Ronda, Faustino Peralta, have unveiled the distinctive ‘Made In Serranía de Ronda’ brand to help develop and food and handicraft products of the local area.
It is hoped the new brand will help ‘position and better identify these products in the market’ from the Valle del Genal, Guadalteba Valley, Guadiaro Valley, Sierra de las Nieves, Sierra de Cádiz, Southern Sierra de Sevilla and Ronda Depression.
Products, once verified that they meet the quality and authenticity requirements, will be able to carry the label. The initiative is part of the municipal company Turismo de Ronda, SA, which will be responsible for the development of the project by creating a database of producers, developing quality and origin requirements and drafting a brand marketing plan.
Registration can be done in several ways: through the website, www.madeinserraníaderonda.es and filling in the registration form, by telephone on or via email: [email protected].
The “Made in Serranía de Ronda” brand will be promoted in all commercial establishments, hotels and hotels that offer or make use of these products.
It is also planned to hold a periodic fair of local products from the Serrania de Ronda.
