The Andalucian Government will hold a meeting today (Wednesday) to discuss the prevention and control measures that will be taken in Andalucia, in compliance with the recommendations made by the Government of Spain on the coronavirus.
The Minister of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior, Elías Bendodo, said the meetings will be held with the representatives of unions so that they can pass on the measure to employers, workers and town halls.
Bendodo also said he wanted to send a message of “tranquillity and common sense”, arguing that in Andalucia only 6% of cases in the whole of Spain have been registered.
“Andalusia is a safe community with health professionals who have the training, information and means to detect and deal with possible cases,” he added.
Bendodo said the Junta has a “permanent and daily contact” with central government.
“Any action we take in the future will also be in line with what the Government suggests,” said Bendodo, who stressed that Andalucia does not currently require measures that have been applied in other communities or places with a greater number of cases.
