The 112 Andalucia emergency coordination service has managed a total of 27,197 incidents during the Christmas holidays, between 3.00 p.m. on December 24, 2019 through until January 7, 2020, which means an average of 1,942 daily notices handled and a 12 per cent on last Christmas.
Healthcare assistance was the main reason for calling with 12,813 emergencies, followed by cases related to citizen security (5,545). Next, traffic incidents (2,052), fires (1,673) and traffic accidents (1,429) were recorded. The remainder of the incidents coordinated by the emergency system involved rescues and anomalies in basic services.
By province, Sevilla has the highest number of emergencies, with a total of 7,665, after Malaga (5,062), Cádiz (3,397) and Granada (3,346). At the other extreme, with fewer incidents are Córdoba (2,141), Almería (2,019), Jaén (1,951) and Huelva (1,590).
