The emergency 112 Andalucía service has made a series of recommendations to the public to help them enjoy the Three Kings parades.
They have stressed the importance of watching the little ones to prevent them from getting lost or suffering some kind of accident that could injure them.
The large concentration of people that accompanies the parades make it is advisable that minors wear an identification bracelet with a contact telephone number, the name of the child and that of the guardian. If you do not have a bracelet, you can write down the same information with a pen on the child’s hand or forearm.
They say It is advisable to teach the little ones what to do in case they get lost and to look for a police officer, Civil Protection volunteer or anyone else that is deployed for the parade and ask for help.
If the child is old enough to have a mobile phone, the adult must teach them to call 112 in case of an emergency, and brief them to give the basic information to the call handler including what is happening and where he or she is. Before leaving home, you can also agree a meeting point with the whole group in case any member gets lost.
Adults should monitor children at all times and warn them to avoid moving vehicles while collecting toys or sweets.
112 Andalucia also advises to keep children away from any animals that might accompany the procession and they say it is advisable to choose streets with wide pavements to see the procession pass.
Civil and respectful behaviour
The emergency services ask for everyone’s collaboration so that the celebrations take place as safely and with as much fun as possible.
Emergencies 112 Andalucia advises the public to act in a respectful and calm manner and avoid pushing to collect sweets or toys.
They recommend ‘do not climb bars, walls, railings, containers or any other element of street furniture that can fall and cause an accident and injure third parties.
Whenever possible, public transport should be used to travel to the areas through which the procession will take place.
The emergency coordination centre asks the public to pay special attention to the people who go to the rides with baby buggies and those who have reduced mobility, elderly or sick people to facilitate their transit and avoid incidents.
In case of an emergency situation, remember that Europe’s single telephone is available every day of the year and at any time. Members of the public who witness an emergency situation should dial 112 on their phone can ask for help.
