JIMERA DE LÍBAR: Tijs Groen gig @ Bar Allioli

Tijs is a completely self-taught musician. He is always on tour. When he is in Europe he lives in his van. Outside of Europe he spends his days with a backpack and a guitar moving from hostel to hostel.

In 2013 Tijs came second in the national guitar competition “De beste gitarist van Nederland”. In the same year he also won the provincial Culture Price. After winning that he stopped his career in athletics. Tijs used to compete as a professional athlete winning three national titles in track and field and cross country.

He tries to breathe new life into Gypsy Jazz, Latin, Blues, Pop and Bossanova.
