The emergency control room for 112 Andalucia has attended a total of 2,566 incidents during Christmas Eve and early Christmas Day, according to the service attached to the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior.
The service has registered a slight increase of 9.8 per cent compared to the activity of the same period in the previous year, when a total of 2,336 notices were handled.
During the period analiseed – between 00.00 on Tuesday, December 24 at 06.00 on Wednesday, Wednesday 25 – the most common causes of calling 112 were health care, with a total of 1,169 requirements, followed by related cases with citizen security (615), and traffic incidents (188). Then fires (149) and traffic accidents (125). The remainder of managed emergencies were due to rescue and anomalies in basic services, among others.
By province, Sevilla is the one that has managed the greatest number of incidents, with a total of 727. Next, Malaga, with 464 emergencies resolved, Cádiz, with 347 and Granada with 292. Then there was Córdoba (223), Jaén (189), Almería (178) and Huelva (145).
The busiest time slots in the 112 call centres were those between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday 24 when up to 127 incidents were reached in one hour. Subsequently, between 4.00 and 6.00 on the morning of December 25, there was a new rebound in demand in the 112 service.
